STD Symptoms





Std refers to a sexually transmitted disease and as the name suggests this type of infection can be transferred through sexual intercourse and in some cases through direct skin contact with the infected area. If std symptoms are observed then it is advisable to get std testing done so as to identify the infection. Following this the correct line of treatment can be started.

In some cases no visible symptoms associated with std infection may be observed while in other cases the symptoms may be quite subtle. However in many cases some common std symptoms may be observed. These symptoms include burning sensations during urination, vaginal or penile discharge, itching in the genital region and sores or lesions in the genital areas among others.

The specific std symptoms in an infection like Chlamydia include abnormal vaginal or penile discharge. This may be accompanied with burning sensation during urination and men may experience testicular pain. Lower abdominal pain may also be experienced along with eye inflammation and lesions on the skin. In some cases inflammation of pelvic organs may be observed.

The std symptoms associated with herpes include eruption of small sores on areas such as the vagina and penis. The other symptoms include pain during urination, fever, headache, itching along with swelling in the glands particularly in the genital regions. Those suffering outbreak of blisters may also experience pain in the legs and buttocks.

In gonorrhea pain may be experienced during urination and yellowish or bloody vaginal or penile discharge may also be observed. In many cases men do not have any visible symptoms. The std symptoms in genital wards include eruption of small and painless bumps near the vagina and on the penis. If untreated these turn fleshy and take on a cauliflower like appearance.

In syphilis the symptoms include painless sores or chancres that normally heal on their own. This is the primary stage of the infection and in the secondary stage a skin rash is observed. Along with the rash, fever and swelling of lymph glands may also occur. Other std symptoms related to this condition include patchy hair loss, sore throat tiredness and muscle aches. This condition can cause a great deal of damage to various organs and can even result in death and so prompt treatment is crucial.

In hepatitis an individual may experience headache, fever along with joint pain and muscle aches. Tiredness, nausea and loss of appetite may also be observed. The skin and eye may become yellow and the urine may be dark colored. In HIV the symptoms include rapid weight loss, fatigue, frequent fever that is low grade along with night sweats.
